Long time no blog! Well to fill you in I have been involved in the production of some film shorts, namely styling, dressing, prop sourcing/making and art directing. The films are currently in post production, but when they are released I'll post some proper links.
In the meantime here's a sneak peek of a music video promo by the 3 piece pop/rock band Twenty Twenty. Twenty Twenty formed in February 2009 and since then have amassed a huge following and supported acts like The Wanted, Scouting for Girls and Selena Gomez, as well as festival appearances playing with JLS, Diversity and McFly.
For this project I was involved in recreating the school room artwork and props used in the feature film Horrid Henry, for which Twenty Twenty's track 'Get Down' from their debut album 'Small Talk' is one of the film's soundtracks.
These are a couple of screenshots taken from YouTube and if you look out for the scenes from 2mins 11secs you'll see what we were trying to reproduce. Look closely at the characters on the windows and the solar system.
For the shoot, a primary school local to one of the production team kindly allowed us to use one of their classrooms.

You can see the transformation was pretty impressive on what was a very tight budget and timescale. Hollywood v Essex, well almost! In fact even Twenty Twenty thought it was the same film set until it was explained that it had been put together the evening before the shoot. Quite an endorsement ;) The film itself is released on the 29th July 2011 and I'll post a link to Twenty Twenty's completed music video as soon as that is out. Meanwhile I'm still trying to recover from the fact that Angelica Houston and Dick and Dom are in the same film...
Ah yes, forgot to mention that the inflatable solar system and Octopus, rockets, planets, snail, flowers that you see in the background will be donated to Evelina Children's Hospital.
