This article by Hannah Bullivant for Amelia's Magazine is about the stand taken by the Craftivist Collective and Climate Rush in response to Government's plans to increase rail fares by 31% over the next five years.


Hannah points out that between 1997 and 2008, the cost of travelling by train rose by 46% in comparison to the 26% rise of travelling by car.  As it is, UK rail fares are 50% more expensive than European fares.


How can this policy possibly encourage people to travel by a "greener" mode of transport?
